Then He’d Start Smilin’...

...Almost Cryin’

Pretending He Was

At The Ryman,

Clapping Loud In The Front Row

Listening To Ernest & Hank Snow...

Dreaming Of That Opry Show...

On His Zenith A.M. Radio.

AM RADIO

I heard a song this morning,

On my AM radio…

It took me back,

Just like that,

Through the static & the snow…

How I recalled that feeling,

From oh so long ago…

The butterflies,

& your blue eyes…

From that AM radio.

I swayed a bit… like dancing,

Then gently closed my eyes…

& suddenly,

Your arms were wrapped,

Around me good & tight…

The song began to flicker,

And faded away real slow…

But I saw you smile,

As I turned the dial…

On my AM radio.
